When Girls Rise, Communities Thrive
Born in Vancouver, BC in 2016 as part of Freestyle Canada’s Women in Freestyle initiative, Girlstylerz began as a local camp designed to bring girls and women in freestyle skiing together for a unique, empowering training experience. Its early success sparked growth across the province, and by 2018, Freestyle BC proudly expanded it into a province-wide initiative supported by ViaSport, Sport Canada, and Freestyle Canada — increasing participation, advancing coach development, and creating inclusive, positive spaces for girls and women in Freestyle Skiing.
Now in 2025, Girlstylerz is stronger than ever, a national movement that continues to open doors and build confidence for girls in freestyle skiing. Driven by the belief that if you can see it, you can be it, we’re breaking down barriers, building pathways, and creating opportunities for girls and women to thrive. Not only as athletes, but as coaches, leaders, and changemakers in sport.
Girlstylerz is more than a program; it’s a platform for visibility, representation, and real progress. We know that diversity fuels strength when everyone’s included, everyone benefits. A stronger, more inclusive freestyle community lifts everyone. When girls rise, the entire community thrives.
